Sebastian Vettel takes F1 world by storm
2 World Championships! 21 Race Wins! Only 24 Years Young!
For those of you who don’t know who Sebastian Vettel is, he is F1’s new star claiming back to back world championships at the tender age of 24.
Starting his motorsports career back in 1995 racing in various karting championships throughout his home country of Germany, Vettel quickly became predominant within the karting circle this enabled him to championships.
2003 onwards Vettel was competing in Formula 1 feeder series such as; Formula BMW and Formula 3. Achieving success in these championships allowed him to get noticed by people who could introduce him into the F1 world, his hard work and determination paid off as in 2007 Sebastian Vettel was confirmed as BMW’s F1 team drivers line up. The F1 teams Vettel has drove for since 2007 have been BMW F1, Toro Rosso F1 and Red Bull F1, this is also where he currently stands.
There are many lessons we can learn from young achievers such as Sebastian Vettel!
Start young. People judging you? Are you treated inferior to others? This should spur you on even more to make the impossible possible. For those who have realised there passion at an early stage, getting going on that path is an exciting adventure, as you will be constantly learning and receiving critical feedback early on therefore, making it less likely to make the same mistakes further down the line. So my opinion is go for it!
Many people believe if you work hard you will succeed! I have to disagree with this, my point being that you are owed nothing; hard work doesn’t work on a rewards basis. Although don’t get me wrong a lot and I mean a lot of hard work is required in order to be successful, but don’t expect to get the results you want. Persistence is the key! Remember, hard work does not guarantee success, but no work guarantees failure.
There are many young sports stars out there today who do there day job and go home, don’t add Sebastian Vettel to that list. He is always out to achieve that little bit more, go that little bit faster, put in that one more lap. As we see him on TV he turns up every other weekend, drives a car around a track and goes home. There is so much more to it than that, late hours working with engineers to perfect car set-ups, endless training to keep up with the physical fitness and extensive testing to make the car the best it can possibly be. Everybody has 24 hours in a day; try to make your 24 hours as productive as possible. So put in the extra time!
“The harder you work the luckier you get.”
